Hi folks,

Once again I call on the combined knowledge of my friends here for a bit of help.

Does anyone here know of a source for PDF's or copies of this Edison trade journal, so that I may get copies? I've searched the library of congress and only found reference to it being published, but nothing more.

I see it referenced elsewhere by authors, including George L. Frow in his book, "The Edison Disc Phonographs and the Diamond Discs".

Many thanks in advance,

Fran

I've never seen any of these, Fran, but have to tried contacting anyone at the Edison National Historic Site? I'd be willing to bet if anyone could help, somebody there could. I think Jerry Fabris is still involved with things down there and he's very helpful.

Sean

PS - I will get you my C-19 info soon, I haven't forgotten, just have my hands full lately!

Thank you, Sean. I have contacted them on other related items and, unfortunately, they are understaffed, so I hesitate to bother them on additional inqueries, but most likely that is what I'll probably need to do. I was hoping that someone may have copies or PDF's here, or direct me if they have any first hand information.

Best,
Fran

While they are at it, Maybe someone can scan all of the Edison Amberola Monthly's to PDF... These Edison Amberola Monthly's are so scarce that even the copies of them made in the 80's are impossible to find.. I believe that there were 42 issues between 1917 and 1921.

The copies made in the 1980's were also put out by Wendell Moore, The same guy who copied the EPM's (Edison Phonograph Monthly). Someone is selling .PDF copies of the Edison Phonograph Monthly on Ebay for the last year.

I would love to see the Edison Amberola Monthly on .PDF as well as the "Edison Diamond Points" trade journal. All are in the public domain at this point, so why do we have such a hard time getting copies?!??!? Someone could make a few bucks off of this.. count me in for copies... I could use them!

:o)

Me too. I have always wanted to see a full copy of either Diamond Points or the Amberola Monthly.
You guys know what a nut I am over paper items: love'em. Moreover, R S Williams....the Edison mega-jobber and retailer here in Ontario issued an Edison magazine of some some sort for their dealers in addition to the Edison Phonograph Monthly. I've never seen a copy of that either.

Speaking of that sort of thing I am still trying to discover if Berliner/Victor talking machine Company of Canada issued a house organ such as....or supplement to....The Voice of the Victor.

Thanks, just to be clear, the Edison Diamond Points journal took over the dissemination of the Diamond Disc business with its' first issue in January, 1916 *EDIT: the first issue of "Edison Diamond Points" was actually December 1915. (The December 1915 issue of EPM did NOT contain any DD content)*.

There is a scan of the "Edison Diamond Disc Phonographs - August 1915" booklet provided with the Wendell Moore EPM scans at the Library of Congress website.

Do any of you know, specifically, if this booklet was originally contained with one of the EPM monthly issues? Or was it a separate mailing provided for Jobbers or Dealers as an advertising tool?

Thank you for any help you can provide me with!
Fran

Hi folks,

Once again I call on the combined knowledge of my friends here for a bit of help.

Does anyone here own issues of the "Edison Diamond Points" trade journal, so that I may get copies, or even buy individual issues, especially from December 1915, through the end of 1918.

Many thanks in advance,

Fran
