I recovered a muddy Victrola IX that was submerged under 5 feet of river water during Hurricane Irene. After removing all metal parts, I had a swollen and warped cabinet left over. I will add video of this, but here is an artistic screen capture, mid-flight. Its parts will keep other machines playing for generations to come.

But the question remains, did it jump or was it pushed?

Mica discs have turned up in the vicinity of this incident.
Detectives believe it's the work of the Mica Monster.

The poor VV-IX. I own a VV-IX but if it came down to it not sure if I would keep the VV-IX or the VV 1-70. The VV-IX is a great machine with classic well built cabinet and even has the 12" turntable. While the VV 1-70 is rarer and has attractive Art Deco look and reminiscence of the "Orthophonic age".
Tough choice.

FYI, I do find this to be very artistic.
I'm thinking of a multimedia installation.
I can see this film being shown in slow motion behind a display of its impact.
Here's the poster for the event.
