This cabinet is interesting... not sure if it's real or just a nice home made copy.

Interesting. My first thought is that it is an aftermarket factory-made cabinet one could buy to set their Amberola 30 down into to make it look like a console and provide space for cylinder storage. I don't find this particular one in either of Tim & George's two books on aftermarket items. May be a little high though, even given that it is said to be working and comes with 99 cylinders.

That has been on Ebay for years and has been discussed on this forum a few times. The most popular opinions are that it is the work of some skilled home cabinet shop, or possibly the modified case of some European machine.

It kind of reminds me of one of those aftermarket Hawthorne and Sheble "drop-in" Amberola 30 cases distributed by the famous Babson Bros. distributors.. kind of a cross between one of those and an Amberola 75, but I think that the Amberola 30 that is in it tells most of the story here. I tend to agree with some of the previous posters here...This machine is a someone's idea of a hybrid case of an unknown manufacturer frankenphoned to an Amberola 30 however nicely executed. It's a nice example of a FrakenAmberola! Alas, If only someone would tell the seller, then maybe he would then understand why this creation has not sold for over a year and a half...

Just for the record, Hawthorne & Sheble ceased business in July 1909.
