Here is an early Victrola electric I had never seen before. Brought $1,095. Didn't see it LFTD.

They're pretty rare. It's listed in the Victor Data Book. One sold at the recent Schlick auction for $862.50 including buyer's 15% penalty. It had an incorrect pickup.

Thanks for the tip to the Data Book.

Looks like less than 500 were made and that they were sold to dealers to sit on a counter for potential buyers to listen to records.

Does anyone know what pickup it used? A friend and forum member (seldom active)bought this machine on eBay and the pickup will need to be worked on or replaced.

The one sold on ebay appears to have the correct reproducer, from what I can tell comparing it to the one shown in the Victor Data Book and the Victor Victrola website.

The one in the auction is broken (stated in auction description-I have not seen it first hand) and will need repair. Also, from what little I have read on electric pickups, it may need to be rebuilt. I know some are worse than others about holding up over all this time. Can anyone recommend someone to work on it for him and I will forward the info on.
Thanks,
Matt

Huh. Another one:

Somebody did a bad thing to it, obviously, but if the tone arm was the only thing that was changed, finding a replacement for the original tone arm might not be too difficult. An electric pick-up for it, though? A little harder I suppose.

This has also been re-motored if you look closely. Why on earth they've screwed the original brake mechanism to the side of the cabinet is rather odd. I bet this could still be salvaged though!
