Looking at this eBay posting, and after I picked my jaw up from the floor, I began to realize how versatile the Victor Victrola really was. It can be converted to a "handlining river fishing box". Makes me wonder if the fish were vertical or lateral cut...or perhaps an orthophonic bass? I don't know.

Unfortunately, I have seen several variations of this wacky idea... Kind of like using telephone magnetos to stun fish or drive worms out of the ground. People have thought of many different ways to screw up antiques...

At the time this sort of thing was done these things weren't antiques, they were just old junk.

I got one of these several years ago on ebay. The reason I went for it is because it had a Victor III motor. It was a good deal for $50.00.
