I have lots of vinyl with car based themes but I cannot seem to find any on cylinders or 78's.
Any pointers?

Hello Chunny,
I am not really a collector of cylinders but have a Blue Amberol of No: 1583 "Uncle Josh buys an automobile" by Cal Stewart which is hilarious and describes what happens in the early years of the twentieth century when the first automobile (ordered from the Sears Roebuck catalogue no less !) arrives in a remote American town/village. Stewart was, of course, a famous raconteur on many different subjects but this record is quite rare I believe---well worth buying if you come across a copy. Come to think of it, perhaps I should make a YT video---thank you for the prompt.
On 78, there a many records with motoring and (now vintage/veteran) cars included in some way or another. Here are the links to both Austin Seven records:

Then there are the Curved Dash Oldsmobile recordings:

Then there is the Ford Model A song:

Then there are the Antone recordings of Shelsley Walsh and Prescott in 1947---although I have only uploaded Parts 1 and 2 of Shelsley at present:

Then "Motoring without tears"---Angela Baddeley being taught to drive---very funny indeed:

There are many others but these are the best ones I have come across to date.

I have a copy myself and will upload an EMG playing of it when time permits!

Another very amusing record is Peter Ustinov recounting the spurious "Gibraltar Grand Prix"---all voices and sounds his own---very clever indeed. I only have a copy on vinyl but I think it appeared on shellac as well.

And then there's "The Low-Back'd Car"
I've got it on Diamond Disc no 80436. It's also available on Blue Amberol 3307.
Here's a recording on Columbia.

And Billy Murray's fun "The Little Old Ford Rambled Right Along." I have it on a blue Amberol, but I think it is out on discs too.

Thank you everyone for your input, especially Graham for the list. I'm going to spend a few days sifting through 78's and cylinders to see what I can find.
Hong Kong is putting together it's first Vintage Car Fair and I have been asked to put together a small exhibition of gramophones and phonographs as well as DJ for a few hours. I have come across a few ad's and postcards both with cars and gramophones. Any other images would be great.
My favorite car song is the Mini Moke song. I still have the 45 from when I was 10 years old. I had never seen a Mini Moke until I went to Macau, where they have fleets of them for the tourists. Great little car and so much fun to drive.

Mustn't forget Nervous Norvus - Transfusion ( My red corpuscles are in mass confusion!!!)

Here are a couple more worth looking out for. I shall be very interested to see what vintage cars survive in your part of the world.
Roger.
