Darkies Delight and Darkies Dream, same tune?

I have an Edison cylinder #2605. It is a Banjo tune called "Darkies Dream". Although it is not marked, the announcement identifies it as performed by Ruby Brooks and Harry Denton. It seems that Fred Van Epps and Vess Ossman have both recorded the same tune as well, perhaps all of which with the same Edison number (2605)? Would this be possible that the same tune by several artists would have the same number?

So this is actually my main question. Is "Darkies Dream" and "Darkies Delight" the same tune? I was looking for the sheet music for this tune and found "Darkies Delight" a composition by Samuel Lapin sometimes connected with "Darkies Dream" recordings. I can't read music . I guess if I could I would be able to answer this myself since the sheet music and the recording both exist.

Can anyone shed some light on the multiple artists, one number question for me? Perhaps point me to some article or other form of information? Also, maybe there is someone who can read the sheet music and tell if the recording is the same?

Thanks for any input provided!

I can read music and a brief exam convinces me they are different tunes. Besides, the composers are different!

Thanks for the reply.

I have since found this link to the sheet music for "Darkies Dream" and as you stated, the composer is different.

Now I'm beginning to think that my unmarked copy of "Darkies Dream" by Brooks and Denton may not be 2605? Can anyone tell me the correct Edison number for The Brooks and Denton cylinder?
