here's a peek in my phono room
after a disaster happened earlyer this year where one of the windows was blown out of its hinges i had to rescue my collection in a hurry there was 3'' of water everywhere! i brought them down to my sleeping room where for the last months i had very little moving space since the room is rather small
but now with all of the repairs done they are back where they belong
a bonus was that i now had a chance to put them back in a better way its almost a museum now!

note the windowsill 5 pics down you can still see the staining left by the water rushing inn

Thanks for sharing your collection. I have not seen so many portables in one location before.

I can only imagine the frenzy as you rushed to save your machines from the flood.

I'm sure your Dr. will sign you off on any need to conduct a health stress test in the near future if you survived this.

that phonograph was owned by w.f. robbers a cylinder & cylinder phonograph dealer from amsterdam from around 1900
the machine was used in phonograph shows in and around amsterdam and as one of the recording machines in the recording studio
in around 1908-12 the machine was converted to 4m to acomodate the demand for 4m records
since the death of w.f. robers in 1923 at the age of 53 the machine fell in dissrepair it was first sold at a amsterdam flea market in 1984 after that the new owner lovingly repainted the upperworks but was never abble to find the carrier arm the original reproducer and mandrel
i got it for free in 1999 together with a lot of phono parts and now i'm looking for those parts not a easy thing here in holland! to be continued?
