This Edison is being offered at a farm auction tomorrow. Can someone advise what model it may be and is it worth my bid? I have a number of external horn cylinder players and an Amberola 30 already so I really do not need any more....but who's counting.

That's an Edison Amberola 75.

It's essentially the same machine as your Amberola 30, but with a second mainspring and larger cabinet with record storage.

Yes, An Amberola 75... I have an oak one of those.

Judging on the condition.(And assuming the Stylus in the reproducer is good and not worn)...You could pay anywhere from $300 to $500 for that machine. Really Super clean ones can go for even more. Make sure all three drawers are there when you open the door. Sometimes one or two or all of the drawers are missing. There should be three drawers behind the door. All three drawers will hold up to 72 Edison cylinder records. It was produced for ten years from 1915 to 1925....but sold until Edison closed in 1929.

A must get for any Edison collector!

I really really do not need any more machines but this is so close to me.
There also is a Home, 2-minute only with endgate, no horn is visible; and 68 cylinders in one box.
I already have a Home, 2/4 minute, and all the cylinders I can play.

But then there is the "bug" with which I seem to be infected that tells me I need more.
Maybe if the price is right I'll buy the Home and resell it on this forum if I can be advised of an honest markup I can ask for it.

If it is raining I will not go, probably, since I only have an open pickup truck for hauling.

John, I'm playing the Devil's Advocate If it is cheap, go for it. You can always sell the lesser machines. Check all the pointers the other members have posted. Good luck

Check for cylinders and look at all titles. Might be a cylinder worth 100.00 alone in there!
You will get it for $250......
