Has anyone spoken with Peter Wall lately?

I have an orthophonic that I was hoping Peter Wall would perform his magic on after reading about the great work he does. It's a few days shy of a month now since I purchased one of his evaluation service items listed on eBay (he had two or three active listings at the time) and have not ever gotten any sort of response in regards to it. eBay has since removed the specific item listing that I purchased, and I attempted to send Peter a message in regards to that and still nothing. I understand he sometimes takes awhile to respond and perform his services, and trust me I really don't want to seem impatient as I know firsthand how life gets in the way of other interests. However this has been a long time IMO not to receive even a cursory acknowledgement - whether about receiving the order, having a backlog I'll get back to you, sorry not interested etc. I know he's been around as he's left feedback for purchases he made over the past month so that is a little frustrating to me. Does anyone here speak with him on a regular basis and can shed some light on if he's not taking on any more work, backed up or whatever? Thanks!

I hope Peter is doing o.k. I had him rebuild my Orthophonic back in 2011, he did a great job. The reproducer works and sounds amazing. I would say Peter has been around for years and has alot of experience with Orthophonics...about the equivalent of the late Bob Waltrip and his Edison Diamond Disc reproducers. Peter does take a little time getting around, but maybe he is busy. I would try writing him again and give him some time.

Yes he can be very slow to respond, but you most likely will get very long phone calls when he starts. I sent my Orthophonic Reproducer to him and it returned lousy in my humble opinion.. It had a bit of a buzz when I sent it, but on return it has lost much of its tone and volume. I emailed him and he called me an insisted that it sounded wonderful on his end. I find that very hard to believe.

This started as a comment about my experience with someone who's no longer on this planet, but I've thought better. Never mind.

Tony,

I just got off the phone with Peter.
He has just recovered from a long bout with pneumonia.
He's now back to doing repairs.

Thanks for the update Gene - glad to hear he's on the mend and looking forward to hopefully hearing from him as he catches up.

:D We had one of those calls about a month ago, about 2 hours! He played a number of his cylinder machines for me.

Yes, Peter can be a little slow to respond sometimes.
Back in 2009, him and I had some of those same kinds
of long telephone conversations. At that time he had
one of those "MagicJack" thingamabobs that supposedly
makes telephone communication possible.

Well, it worked sorta, sometimes, kind of....

It was hilarious though, one time it actually got
stuck in a loop right in the middle of some word
Peter was saying, and it just stuck there endlessly
repeating about a tenth of a second of one syllable.

It sounded for all the world like a stuck CD player!

Eventually I just hung up, and soon there after my phone
rang again, and we continued. Many cylinders were
played for me to hear. Billy Murray, Gold Moulded ones.
