Sorry, but posts like these are getting really old. In fact, this sort of posting has been peddled ad nauseum on the forum, and it lost its novelty value years ago. You could have simply said it was an overpriced gramophone instead of needlessly wasting my time.

....... quite right, and all comedians could just tell us why the chicken crossed the road to save us all a lot of time. I just think the world might just be a slightly duller place though ......

It's a joke... smile Enjoy your day, life is too short to be so serious about a really trivial hobby (in the grand scheme of things, no one is leaving here with their hoard of phonographs and memorabilia). Just think about the previous owners of those great machines and records we own... they are long gone along with their joy of ownership. Some day, if we live long enough, we won't even remember that we collected them...

I think that is a great idea. Just to have some idea that this is a "joke" thread before clicking on it would be nice. These sorts of threads no longer are humorous or a surprise or novel, and lost their joke value for me some time ago, and they are clearly a specific type of humor. Thus, I think the idea of putting "CP" in the title or something of that sort would be great.
