Looking for a Long-Play Edison console for sale. I'm located in the Southern California area, but will arrange for shipping if necessary. I can pick up at the 2015 Union show. There was one for sale at the CAPS show a couple of years ago, but I don't know who was selling it. Would the person who contacted me who had one, please contact me again. I PM'd you, but you have not replied. Marc.

I think I have a rough one. It's in storage at the moment, but I will go over and photograph it by the weekend. Cheers, Russie

Kurt, Sorry I didn't make to the warehouse last weekend. I'll try for tomorrow and get back to you. I don't know which model it is. It is a low console, has a little wood damage, and I think missing the reproducer. However it is cheap. I'll get back to you. Russie

Okay, here are pics of the Edison console. It is a BC34. It is complete except for grille cloth. There is a small break in the grille, lower left side, and some puppy chew marks on the left front leg, and a few dings in the front edge of the lid. Motor runs fine, may need tune-up and lube. I played a record and the sound was not perfect. Probably needs the reproducer to be rebuilt or a new needle. Asking $200. Russie

Does that have the long play gear switch, or just the 10-12 buttons?

From what I see in the photo, that does not have the LP gearing...

I also have a BC-34 and can say that model does not have Long Play gearing. I think a lot of models could be retrofitted with a kit, but they didn't come standard that way and I don't recall seeing any that were. The purpose-built Long Play models that I have seen had a decal that said, "New Edison" and had a bracket nearby to hold two reproducers. There also has to be a switch to change the gearing.

How do you tell if it has the gearing from looking at the photo? How would I tell by physically looking at the machine? Russie
