VV-XI tonearm bracket differences

Thanks to a very helpful forum member, I have just about all of the parts needed to turn an empty oak VV-XIa cabinet into a working machine. The donor VV-XIa parts were from a machine with serial number 530118 which puts it around 1919. The back bracket I have for the tonearm wasn't from the donor machine and it appears that the sleeve O.D. is 2-⅛" which is the same I.D. of the horn throat opening, so the bracket will not slip inside the horn as it does on my later 1921 VV-XI. I spotted one on eBay where the seller says his O.D. is 2-1/16" which I think should fit, but wanted to first check here to see if that sounds reasonable. Only thing I can think is that there was a slight production change in later horn castings which provided for a slightly larger opening with new brackets. Thanks!
