The Edison Army/Navy machine is very interesting and quite unusual. You either love it or hate it. I don't think the price is out of line but I like the machine. Jerry

Wow! Looks like it's all there...manual, oil and grease containers. The few I've seen pop up recently were not anywhere as complete as this example.

I'd love it, but a bit costly to ship to Australia.
One appeared here recently, but it had been painted white on the outside and the workings were missing. This is the only one I've seen or heard of in this country.

These are quite scarce, dare I say rare. I certainly have seen more Class Ms for example, than the Army and Navy phonograph. I have owned two of these machines, and I've seen somewhere between 12 to 20 for sale in over ten years of collecting. However, the bulk, the weight, and the color certainly affects the desirability. They are for the collector who truly needs it all, or also has an interest in military history.
The price on this example is more than fair. I thought I had the nicest known example, which I sold for $1700. This is example has slightly better paint, and basically all the original accessories. That said, I don't see the painted reproducer holder that's supposed to be screwed into the motor board, but the pictures are pretty dark. If you all like, I have some pretty extensive pictures of my examples, and could post them late next week.

I'm not interested in buying that one but would love to see the pictures of the one you had when you have time.

if this was closer to me in NJ, I'd be buying it. these are really historically intriguing machines and they play and sound as good as most any other basic diamond disc machine. this one also has most of the accessories and a bunch of records. that price is high but not crazy.
I'm sure it's a longshot, but if anyone might be able to assist me in getting this to NJ, I'd greatly appreciate it and I'm sure we could work something out.

Last month's APN featured a great story about an Edison A&N machine.
