ASSEMBLING 2,4 MINUTE CLUTCH

I have done a search and can't find anything. I took my Triumph apart to put a new bearing in. Now I can't get the clutch together right. I've done this before, but years ago and had trouble then. When you tighten the screw in the large pulley (belt pulley) that pin should hit the mandrel shaft, correct? I just can't get it together! This is the Triumph F I needed a case for. Believe it or not, I found a Triumph A in a D case with a steel O reproducer. Now I will get 2 Triumphs out of it. I will sell the A.

There is an excellent "how to" on Wyatt's website. It saved my bacon when I was trying to get the 2/4 minute mechanism to work on my Triumph D.

Nice looking Model O you have. Is that the original top? The one I have has the potmetal domed top, which still works but some of the edges have flaked off.

I assume none of you know? It does meet the mandrel shaft.

Are you talking about the pin that has a leaf spring holding it in place? If so, it's function is described in step 3 of the instructions from Wyatt's.

No, I was talking about the pin in the upper belt pulley. I had to file the end of the mandrel shaft. Must of buggered it up taking it off. It was one of those froze bearings that I almost couldn't get out.

SOMEBODY ANSWER THIS QUESTION. Does the mandrel shaft go through the belt pulley on the upper works!

The mandrel shaft doesn't need to go all the way through the belt pulley but most of the way, about ¾ or so of the way through the belt pulley. It needs to go through far enough so the set screw and locking pin in the belt pulley will tighten up on the mandrel shaft locking the belt pulley in place.
