Here is an interesting eBay listing using the word "restored" as a selling point. Any potential buyer should be able to get their money back without question... AND it's a "bargain" - only $675.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLUMBIA-Q-CYLI ... SS:US:3160

"COLUMBIA Q CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH -RESTORED: Here is a great playing Columbia Q cylinder phonograph. This machine plays both Edison and Columbia 2 minute cylinder records. This type Q is on an oak base with all original parts except fpr the correct replacement cone horn. This machine would look fantastic on a bookcase as room decor for your living room ,den or office! This is a great idea for a rare holiday gift!"

Apparently "restored" in this instance means it comes pre-rusted so you don't have to set it out in the rain yourself. :D

In other words, it needs to be "restored"...

It could be a nice machine with a lot of hard work and "restoration"...

In a case like this it could mean restored to function with copious squirts of oil

I bet the trunnion barley even moves if not at all and the listing says that it plays great. The feed screw is rusted and it's hard to clean parts like this without doing damage because of the fine threads especially on an Edison Home or Triumph. This machine would need LOTS of TLC to get it playing again.

I notice there is no lid shown either. He is correct about all of the parts being there, except in what condition? Usually at Stanton's a Q is a $250 - $350.00 machine, or less, depending on condition.
