I was wondering craigslist and found this
http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/atq/4797896605.html I remembered reading that many left over cabinets were fitted with the new victor electrola with radio so is it original or did someone who needed a cabinet for an re-45 stuff one in there.

Looks like a homemade mess to me. And that lid definitely does not belong to a Credenza.

Someone fitted the works from a Victor Re-45 or 57 to the cabinet

I've seen several Credenzas fitted with radios and changer mechanisms- all of them looked like handyman's work, though sometimes very good. I like to think that a family recalled what an investment they'd made 10-15 years ago & they wanted to salvage a bit of it.

That cabinet does not look like it's lived in the kindest environment...
I'm not sure what's up with the lid - looks like someone has added a skirt of some sort.
Did someone move the ID plate from the deck up to the back-rail ?
The chassis picture is intriguing - I don't know what that white, puffy-looking "deck" is, but it appears to have a large relief of the Nipper logo in the center ?
I would think it's worth the money for the components...

You have to give this seller credit as for the listing condition it states Salvage. Very honest. Sure beats all the listings I see with similar condition items where they ask full mint retail along with meanicing statements like "I researched it and know the value don't try to low ball me"!
