I was wondering craigslist and found this http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/atq/4797896605.html I remembered reading that many left over cabinets were fitted with the new victor electrola with radio so is it original or did someone who needed a cabinet for an re-45 stuff one in there.

Looks like a homemade mess to me. And that lid definitely does not belong to a Credenza.

Someone fitted the works from a Victor Re-45 or 57 to the cabinet

I've seen several Credenzas fitted with radios and changer mechanisms- all of them looked like handyman's work, though sometimes very good. I like to think that a family recalled what an investment they'd made 10-15 years ago & they wanted to salvage a bit of it.

That cabinet does not look like it's lived in the kindest environment...

I'm not sure what's up with the lid - looks like someone has added a skirt of some sort.

Did someone move the ID plate from the deck up to the back-rail ?

The chassis picture is intriguing - I don't know what that white, puffy-looking "deck" is, but it appears to have a large relief of the Nipper logo in the center ?

I would think it's worth the money for the components... :monkey:

You have to give this seller credit as for the listing condition it states Salvage. Very honest. Sure beats all the listings I see with similar condition items where they ask full mint retail along with meanicing statements like "I researched it and know the value don't try to low ball me"!
