I found this phonograph that looks like a Puritan but I'm not sure how much they are worth.

In oak, and in that condition? I'd buy them all day! Seems to be a pretty good deal to me.

This one is a bit strange to me. I have a collection of Puritan pictures from the web, and none show two doors hinged on the sides; rather, all have a single door hinged at the bottom. On this one, where the grille should be, there appears to be a solid piece of wood. The record storage is strange, too. All that I have seen have dividers in green, that are flush with the sides and there is a storage shelf above them. Finally, I've only seen one with the decal on the underside of the lid; the rest have the decal on the back of the lid as it slopes toward the underside of the lid. It's hard to tell from these low resolution pictures if the decal is a Puritan decal.

Certainly, there may have been more variations with this make than I have seen, but I'm thinking this machine may have been altered, if indeed it is a Puritan.

Thanks for your reply, and I am happy to stand corrected. Do you know what model Puritan this is? The cabinet looks like the Puritan Mayflower that sold recently on eBay, but nothing else about it does. And does this one actually have a Grille down at the bottom? Perhaps it's the low resolution of the pictures, but it really looks like a solid piece of wood to me, and that certainly wouldn't do much for the sound quality!

I bet that when you turn that rather prominent control in front of the crank the panel in front of the horn will open up.

Man, I wish I could get this machine but it's too far and I have no room. I really hope this goes to someone here on this forum so we can get more info on it.

The Standish model has no carvings on the front corners, but it does have the grill door and the two doors hinged at the sides. All that estott is right and that lever opens the grill door; neither the Standish nor the Craigslist machine seems to have a doorknob. It also looks like someone did a motor swap on the Standish. I wonder how many different motors were used in Puritan phonographs? There seems to be quite a bit of variety.
