Another Wacky eBay Listing. Records this time.

I've hesitated adding another "joke" post to this section since there've been a number of them lately, but I've been seeing this record lot listed the same way for months now. I suspect that numbers 70, 73, 74, 77, and so on are mint copies of Arizona Dranes' "In That Day", Ma Rainey's "Prove it On Me", and that Tommy Johnson "Alcohol and Jake Blues" that always pops up in lots like these ... Birmingham Jug Band's "German Blues"... stuff like that. But the listing's a pip, and that's a fact.

And please remember, while looking at the list, you might feel that none of these are of major importance, but that's you're opinion and I respect your opinion. and you may be right. but this is my listing and this is my opinion. so please respect it. That'll be $7034.55, sir! Cash, teller's check, or PayPal™?

...CABINET?!
In case anyone is confused by the above, no, this is not my listing!

The listing may be a joke, but it must have taken the seller a seriously long time to type it!

Well, I'm sure the listing isn't a joke, but my original post was definitely of the point-and-laugh variety, which I'll admit is kind of jokey, if also kind of ill-mannered -- but I'll cop to being an occasional lout. Poking around further, I found that the seller has another lot for sale that at least seems to have a few titles that, depending on condition, might add up to something closer to his asking price, even if it's still awfully high. I guess I'm just scratching my head about what would inspire a seller to put up such a pie-in-the-sky listing, basically saying that his records are "important" because he says so, and then re-list it repeatedly for months, not getting the message when there are no bites. He'd probably be just as well off buying scratch tickets.

The other listing, for those playing along at home:

(And I'd probably be just as well off chalking another one up to the Inscrutable Mysteries of eBay, and not thinking about it. Some questions have no answers!)

There are many people in this country wandering around freely that suffer from some sort of mental illness... Judging from the seller's use of language and his changing from caps to lowercase letters in his listings, he might be one of them. :?

The missing entries in his listings are also puzzling... and he sets himself as an absolute authority. One definition of mental illness is: repeating the same mistakes over and over, but expecting a different outcome...

I can't tell if this is a joke or not - I hope it is...

I looked at the seller's feedback, and it's all positive, and from bidders with "scores" in the three to four figure range...

:?

I think that he got a hugh collection to sell and its overwhelming. Crazy starting prices, but they are mostly "Or Best Offer". For him, it may just be the easiest way to do it. As for some of the holes in the list, he may have sold an individual disc off the list. And those mysterious words.. CABINET ... CASE #347 BBB ... NEXT TO XMAS TREE ... they are storage locations.

It seems a bit goofy, oh yes!
At least he's clear about the lousy photos part. That's his name.

I actually bought a record from him a year ago. It was fine.
