Has anybody seen one of these plates. I can barely read what is on the back but I believe it is Abenakis Pottery, which I believe is a Canadian maker since I can also read "Canada", and "hand crafted" and possibly "2610". I don't know the value, just curious if there are others out there. It has a lot of crazing, and appears to be a real vintage piece. Thanks for any help.

I've never seen one of these, but I am highly skeptical that it dates to the nineteenth century, or even the first half of the twentieth.

Thanks, George. Here's a closeup of the crazing. I sure would like to verify its age.

It's an interesting curio, but the typography is wrong for the 19th or even early 20th century. That particular style of sans-serif fonts didn't exist until the mid-20th, and the serif face seems to be Times New Roman, which was designed around 1930, or a knock-off of it. My guess is it probably dates to the '50s or '60s. Nice, though -- a keeper!

My thoughts exactly!

"Abenakis" was a line of ceramics with vintage prints produced by Beauceware Pottery in Canada, starting approximately in the 1960s.

That is a nice plate, but my feeling this was probably from the 1960's or 1970's as many of these different types of collectable plates were becoming popular. I really do think it is a cool plate and collectable. It is at least 40 years old.
