Emerson phonographs

I've collected for a good time now---started when "The Music Box Show" was in Cranford, N.J. Have a nice collection---with the Emerson brand really snowballing, have machines, literature, records, and Emerson related ventures. Missing a couple of phonograph models that I know are around and most likely a few that I am not aware of. It is really easy to see the enjoyment of the "Hobby" is from the majority of good people you meet---without a doubt.

Welcome to the forum! :)

That's pretty interesting that you have focused on Emerson exclusively for...must be about 30 years if you were at Cranford. I for one would like to see photos of some of your Emerson artifacts. You must have a lot of willpower to have resisted everything else! :)

Hello George, Thanks for the interest. I do have some other machines---Aeolian, Brunswick, Columbia, Edison, and Victor. The Emerson collection is more intense---even though they do not command the attention of more desirable brands. I have models of the $3 horn machine, different uprights, and different consoles---including the radio/phono combos (battery sets)----all the machines are in various conditions---as found. What I am trying to locate is an internal horn table model with lid and a console with a center lid. I know they are around, now just the fun of locating them and getting them into the collection, as for other models they may exist, but I am not aware of them. I have picked-up a couple of machines---identical to Emerson but with a different brand name. Maybe stock sold off when the crank-ups were put to rest? As for pictures----guess who doesn't know how to attempt that feat----guilty.

You are doubly fortunate then, joining us here. Uploading pictures to this website is as easy as it gets. If you already know how to attach pictures to an email message, then you can do it here - it's the same concept. Take digital pictures, transfer them from camera to your computer. On this website, either start a thread, or reply to one. Scroll to the bottom of your posting until you see the section titled "Upload attachment" Click the "Browse" button to explore your hard drive and locate a picture to upload. Having selected a picture, click the "Add the file" button that appears directly below the "Browse" button. You have the option to add a "File comment" to title or explain the picture. Give it a try, you can't break anything!

Well Brian, The Rahway River floods are still a "deep" part of Cranford---with houses along Riverside Drive being raised up to prevent damage. There is still work being done at CPD headquarters. Name sounds familiar---ever have your mower serviced on North Ave? ---Herb
