I don't have any affiliation, nor do I know much about the wartime phonos but hey, it's still cool.

This is Edison's army navy machine, a pretty uncommon phonograph, and this particular one appears to have sadly been left exposed too long to a wet floor... The bottoms pretty badly rotted through.
These have been discussed pretty extensively on this forum, do a search through the machines section if you're interested.

It would be a worthy project for an unusual phonograph. If you live with your collection it might be a difficult one for your significant other to appreciate. Even if restored to its original splendor, it's tough to argue the beauty of an Army/Navy model. I own one and I think it's a very interesting machine. I would estimate the value of a nice original one to be from $900 to $1400. What do others think? Jerry

It is rather interesting that this one has a painted inscription from the 319th Aero Squadron - with a flag yet! I hope it's genuine & not someone's effort to decorate the machine.

True: an A/N with a genuine military provenance will add historical value: especially if it is associated with WWI aviation. If genuine, it will probably be bid up by aviation/militaria collectors: if not, it might be a ploy to attract bids from that sector.
