This video was uploaded on youtube in 2008. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnsizkVjGm8 Don't know if this has been posted before on this forum, but this is just terrible! At least it wasn't a brown wax cylinder but still this guy's hands were shaking and he was squeezing the cylinder and touching the grooves obviously not holding it the correct way with two fingers on the inside if the cylinder. :(

Ok never mind. Gramophone78 on TMF posted this in another tread. Sorry about that.

It was totally staged...as a joke..

Anyone that knows about wax cylinders knows not to hold them that way...

The first line that he says: "This is a RARE one of a kind cylinder. There is no other one like it in the world." - is the lure..

Totally fake, and totally staged...

I don't think it was staged. I found it to be pretty funny actually. I've broken a few by other, equally stupid, methods with the same, "Oh f..., sh..." response. Thanks Vic'Boy.

I think that it would have been funnier if the record had been a wax Amberol. The fellow could "mishandle" the record by looking at it crosswise, and it could explode into shards.

Anyone have another nice copy of Billy Murray singing "I've Got Rings On My Fingers"?
