Was checking an antique shop today and saw a Model 613 Viva-Tonal. Any photos out there of this particular machine? Did a search but nothing. Nothing appears missing and I sort of like the cabinet - the speaker cloth and grill are perfect. Thanks

If its at all reasonable I would get it if the motor and reproducer are sound. I had the 810 and to my ear it out played the Credenza. Old reviews from the days of the introduction of the machines mention many critics preferred the sound of the Columbias.

Yep, from the very top left hand corner it is the 3rd one in to the right. Neat cabinet, believe was a tag on it for $150. May have to run back down there tomorrow and check it more closely. Thanks for the info.

That is a style that was at an auction near me a few years ago. They hand console Brunswick in pretty good shape as well. Unfortunately the auctioner said that the Columbia which was still in the house was not going to be sold. I would have loved to have had it.

The 600 series was the smallest of the VivaTonals. The horn is very similar in size and shape to those used by Victor in its smallest ortho series such as the 4-3. The sound is also very similar to those Victors and is very good for its size. I have both a Victor 4-3 and a Columbia 613. The Columbia #15 reproducer was the weak link in all of the VivaTonal models as it is not as good as the Victor #5 orthophonic. But the 613 is a pleasant sounding set nonetheless.

Thanks for the info - have a good weekend. I'm going to go take a peek at this machine this morning and take a much closer look. Cheers

Took another look, made a low ball offer $85 and was greeted with a 'SOLD." I brought it home much to my chagrin of my wife. Been working on it since Sat and guess who loves the machine. I'll post a few photos along the way..
