Does anyone have any info on the Expert Cadet. The smallest of the EXPERT range. Can't seem to find any pictures of one.
Thanks

Period advertisements for the Cadet are reproduced on pages 64 and 65 of "The EMG Story", in which Frank James comments that it's performance was so bad that it was later fitted with the larger Minor horn and renamed the Ensign.

Chunny, if you can wait a couple of weeks I can post two photos of an example owned by an American enthusiast. I am in Canada currently and away from my computer files. I have never seen one "in the flesh".

Now there's a coincidence.
I've just bought an Expert Cadet/Ensign or bitsa from a collector in Canada. I visited his wonderful collection a few years back and had spotted the Expert way up high on a shelf looking well out of place with all the Canadian and American machines. I asked him to contact me if he ever wanted to sell it and years later he kindly offered it to me. My Expert Senior, also came from Canada. What is this connection with Expert Gramophones and Canada ?.

The British Empire, perhaps? ;) Graham, I'd love to see pictures of the Cadet at some point, too!

Here is the first lot of pictures. I'll add more as soon as I have had a chance to clean the Expert Ensign.

Fantastic to see one of these Chunny! Many thanks for posting. I'd be really interested to hear your impression of its performance.
