"Sugar in the Gourd" Fiddlin' Powers & Family

Post by Uncle Vanya »

]My favorite of Cowan Powers' dance recordings. This is taken from an exceptionally clean cylinder. I would love to find a good Diamond Disc copy!

Please pardon the nasty little Amberola 75. It was at hand, you see...

I've never been a fan of this type of music, but I make an exception for this one, which I was pleased to buy from a board member a couple of years back.

Nice record. I am still more partial to "Cluck Old Hen". Sometimes a clean Blue Amberol has less surface noise than its Diamond Disc counterpart and is more pleasant to hear.
