I celebrated by playing Edison records on Edison machines .... but that's every other day, too.

Here is a watch fob from his 70th birthday celebration dinner on Feb. 11, 1917. They were only given to the Orange, NJ employees who attended.

I think Edison used his Victrola quite often, to listen to Victor records compare his records with the competition, The music room had of course a Diamond Disc Machine, a Victrola and Grafanola. And from what I Understand is that Victor purchased brown wax blanks from Edison to master Victor Records. I remember a 1906 court case where John C English is testifying that the blanks he purchased recently " c 1906" were the same as Edison blanks he had used in the 1890s. And I am like why would a Victor employee be still purchasing Edison brown wax cylinders for? Answer, to melt down, to make master discs to cut records from.

You wish you took the wax out of your ears, and realized how superior Victor was.
