FOR SALE: Giant Pooley record storage cabinet - INQUIRE
Posted: Sun Feb 15, 2015 4:11 pm
Pooley Phonograph record storage cabinet, made by the Pooley Furniture Company of Philadelphia, PA. Has a date of 1911 on the sticker, and was originally sold for $145.00. It is beautiful mahogany, and of course has the Pooley record mechanism - each slot is numbered; you move the mechanism to the desired slot number, push the button, and the record is ejected and cleaned at the same time. All of the mechanisms work great.
The original green curtains are in very nice shape; the curtain on the right door was repaired at the top, but it is only visible from the inside of the door.
The dimensions are 52½" wide, 20" deep and 61½" high - I am guessing that this was probably a custom piece, but I do not know for certain (I am guessing this because of it's size, and also that I've not seen any others of this size).
Overall it is in very nice condition, and it displays beautifully - and it's functional, too! See pics (link below).
Located in Reading, PA - pickup only (sorry, I no longer have a vehicle large enough to transport this piece), but on the ground floor (no steps) and I can help you load it. It is on castors (original) and moves easily.
It holds 450 records. 10" on the top shelf, 12" on the bottom two shelves. No records are included.
Smoke free home here. No hidden damage/missing veneer, etc. A very nice/functioanl/unique piece. The ONLY thing missing on it are the key escutcheons (it came that way when I got it). The locks function, and work with any standard Victor V key (not included).
I NEED THE ROOM, SO ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. I have $2500 in it. I'm also open to trades/partial trades - I like Edison cylinder machines, I could use a cylinder storage cabinet, and will always consider external horn disc machines as well. Mostly interested in selling, but you never know...
