I am looking for a working motor for a Columbia Grafonola " Jewel". This is the 1915 table top model with curved lid.

Check this one out - I think it is from a Meteor or Eclipse, judging by other parts from same seller, but the motor-plate and motor look the same as is in my 1914 "Jewel".

One important detail on this motor is look closely at the winding shaft. It looks like it's been sheared or broken off. However, that's the right motor.

I think initially, Pete was looking for two spring-barrels for a similar motor.


Hopefully the seller could do better on the S&H though...

Harvey's right, but even if it has been sheared off, it can be repaired/restored...

The Columbia Jewel I am trying to get running belongs to a friend of mime. It was his Grandfathers. We have a complete motor but both springs are broken. I contacted George Vollema and if we send off the spring barrels the cost is about $165.00 to install two new springs. I know it is probably the going rate but it is not cheap. I thought that we might be able to find a replacement working motor from a machine that had a wrecked cabinet.

I would contact Ron Sitko. Two replacement springs should only cost you $50-$60. They come clamped in a ring, so you can easily slide them into the barrels.
