1500.00 for a 5600? Bet you were surprised.

In 30 years of collecting, this was the first copy of #5684 (I FAW DOWN AND GO BOOM, By Al Fields & His Assassinators), I had ever come across.

I believe that the Electrically Dubbed BA's started with 5644? (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

By Late 1928, Early 1929, the BA's were being made in small lots of approx. 100 per run.
So we know that not that many of the late BA's were made. Add to that, since they were more Jazzy titles, they were probably played to death! Edison even ordered all remaining BA's to be destroyed when production stopped!

To find Late Jazzy Titles in VG to Mint shape is getting near impossible.
Even if there are many still out there, the collectors don't want to part with them.

Thus, $1500 for #5684 in E- shape seems very reasonable to me.

Sutton ("Edison Blue Amberol Cylinders", p. 269) says electric dubbing starts at 5650 and also notes that acoustic dubs were also made and possibly used more than the electric dubs.

So, How are you supposed to tell if they are electric or acoustic dubs?

To my ears, these Late BA's ALL sound Really "LOUD and CLEAR".
