Is there any tutorials on how to use/apply NIGROSENE... I have a bedplate on a Edison Standard Model F that has a blister about the size of a quarter. Can't find too much info on the net about the technique when using NIGROSENE.

Any members have much experience with the process??

Here's what I've done in the past:

- Clean area with paper towels and paint thinner (mineral spirits), sand area with 400 wet & dry sandpaper.

- Dissolve a tiny bit of Nigrosene powder into alcohol & stir (add enough to make it really dark - it really shouldn't take that much)

- Mix dissolved Nigrosene into small amount of amber shellac. (I've even added the Nigrosene directly into shellac with no problems.)

- Use a small brush to cover the spot in question. Repeat to build up area after shellac dries in about an hour. Repeat as needed.

- Let the area cure for a couple of weeks until it is hard enough to sand with 400, then 600, then 800 wet & dry autobody sandpaper. Then polish with auto body polish.

That's pretty much it, unless you're going to shellac over the whole bedplate as well. Good luck.
