I've looked through the forums past posts but had trouble finding results finding the best products for re-doing pinstriping. So what products do you all think are the best for re-doing the gold pinstriping on edison cylinder phonograph's bedplates? And once the gold striping is done do you put orange or clear shellac over it? Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about pinstriping but I do know that MicaMonster (Wyatt) on this forum uses .7mm gold paint pins for pinstriping. You can use either orange or clear shellac to put over it really it's up to you. If you want to give the pinstriping a more aged look then apply orange shellac over it. I don't know if you already know or not but Greg Cline makes high quality decals and he does sell bed plate pinstriping decals. Here's his website: http://phonodecal.com/decals/scripts/main1.php#null

Greg's decals are first-rate. I used them on my Triumph. Laying out the long stripes is a bit fiddly, because they are super thin, but it is worth the effort as the thinness disguises the fact that they are decals once you have them installed and the final coating of shellac on. At least on the set that I bought, there were extras so if you tear one during installation you are not sunk. I also found the 2 products he recommends on the how to install decals page on the website very helpful.
