Would members like to show their repeater attachments for cylinder or disc machines. I would love to see all the different ones we own.
Here is a disc repeater called a Repeater-Stop. This repeater requires the owner to add at least two holes into the motorboard. So, I'm not sure how many collectors today would want to do that to their priced Victrola. Better as a display item...I think..

. Lets see what you have.

Frank, it's funny you mention "flinging". This Cesco repeater is like that. Our Member Marcel made a YouTube Video showing the crazy fast action flinging it produces.

It should have been stated on the instruction paper.....
"do not use on your good records"....

I think the scary one I'm remembering was a "Geer", or similar ?

Here is the Geer Repeater. It does not fling the tone-arm, rather it guides it along a channel. The needle is forced to ride over a small metal lip as it enters the channel and the tip of the needle rides on the channel until it reaches the record start area. I've tested this thing several times and although it does not seem to damage the already worn needle, it is a bit scary. Russie and Lori Ofria

Here is my Encore. Its operation is nothing short of brutal and about as gentle as a wrecking ball.

I wonder how many records were ruined by these devices.

Following this thread has gotten me interested in buying a repeater. What is the price range and is there one more desirable than the others? Guess I'm asking for a little education and maybe does someone have one for sale?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I personally find the Gizmos & Gadgets book by Fabrizio & Paul to be very helpful regarding identification these devices.
Although the authors provide a price "guide", it is just that; a guide to help provide a rough idea of worth at that time.
Ebay may prove to be more useful to current price trends. However, the value of any item is really what the buyer and seller are both happy with anyway.
