Recently I bought a puritan phonograph that was missing the tonearm. I came across this on ebay http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... 6&start=10 if I put this on my Puritan would it affect it's value a whole lot since it's not "original equipment"? How often do original Puritan tone arms turn up? Should I just wait?

Tom, I would suggest being patient and wait for the correct tone arm. Have you tried George V.? He deals in a great many original parts. The critical thing, besides matching holes in the base, is the length of the arm. The needle should contact or come very close to the spindle shaft. If it's too long or short, it affects the wear on the record. Jerry Blais
