Don't worry, Paul. We all have setbacks: like when that machine we want becomes available just when something expensive breaks on the car... You have the machine and it has waited for you for over 100 years, it can wait some more.

Hang in there....story of my life...it took me 4 months to work on a 2nd style Columbia Q, buying a reproducer, horn, decal, feed screw etc. took time since the parts can add up.....but slowly but surely it will get done.

Btw...which Graphophone do you have?

It's a Columbia Graphophone TYPE B. I need a winding key, the reproducer needs to be repaired, and I need to find a horn. Plus the cabinet needs to be cleaned, and the lid needs a pice of trim. Part of it broke off. It's not that I don't have the money? It's just that I have a couple of large bills I have to or had to pay. Due to a couple of stupid things I did.

I may have to find someone to fix the reproducer on this machine. As the diaphragm was smashed. Looks like it broke, when it hit the mandrill. Stylus will need to be replaced as well.


Someone told me Kotton Kleaner was good for cleaning, the cabinet. Will have to buy some, and I have a cousin. who might be able to fix the wood on the front. Still need to buy a winding key for it. Most likely off of eBay.

So I shipped my Columbia Phonograph off to George Vollema aka the Victrola Doctor. To see if he can fix my, reproducer. Which I could not remove. Also, he has a winding key for it.
