The best part about Stantons......

For me, and I am sure others will agree with me on this point, attending a Stantons auction is like being at a happy reunion. I often meet people in person who I have known for years by their screen-name, and conversations start. Old friends who I have attended auctions with over years are always there to share phono stories, share experiences, repair techniques, and good not-so-clean humor. Attendance is a pleasure. A chance to be inside a world where you are not an outsider, but a citizen. Where you could walk up to a fellow collector and say, "The pot metal trunion on my model AT seized, what do you do to remove it?" and have them instantaneously understand you and collaborate on a solution.
While there I don't think of family meals, the costs of health insurance, or who is puppy sitting my dog. And dinners out are spent discussing how to replace springs, "the one that got away," and how many finishes Victrolas came in.
It is time well spent, and a therapy in itself.
