Edison DD B19 record cabinet???

Yesterday I had the opportunity to look at a couple machines a "non-phonograph" friend purchased at a recent auction. One was a DD B-19. It was sitting on a short record cabinet that had vertical slats and a door that hinges across the bottom and drops straight forward-- similar to the record door on an S-19. I will try to get pictures of it in the next few days--- BUT-- I am somewhat uneducated when it comes to DD machines. Did the Edison factory make record cabinets specifically for the table model machines to sit on? Were there aftermarket manufacturers that made cabinets for DD machines?... The dimensions and style of this little cabinet work perfectly for the B-19. Other than a missing grill it is a neat little set up.
Thanks-

No, the Edison factory didn't even make its own Disc Phonograph cabinets.

Yes, several outside cabinet manufacturers offered record cabinets for DD machines. I don't know offhand which companies made them for the B-19, but looking through
The Talking Machine World from mid-1919 onward should reveal something:

Thanks George- I did a little digging in The Talking Machine World and found the exact cabinet pictured with an S-19 on it---(pictured. It's an Eject-o-file. I'll let the guy know it is all legitimate--- He has the cabinet on the right-- Unfortunately I can't enlarge it with enough quality to read the description of the cabinet.
Thanks!

I'm glad you were able to find the cabinet, Brad. But I think that's a "B-19" sitting on it!

If it were me, I would be more inclined to buy an Edison upright, even a common one, before buying a B-19 and cabinet. Although that's a more interesting option in some ways, the B-19 was made of cheaper gum wood slats that are prone to being scratched easily. Many are also stained unevenly. Mechanically, they are the same as their contemporaries and have the smaller horn. I would vote for an S-19, C-150, or similar instead, or a C-19/C-250 if you want the larger horn.

Thanks 52089 -- I appreciate your info. Over the years I've had a few different Diamond Discs-- C-250, L-34, S-19 and a B-80. For space reasons I've always let them go because I found I seldom played them. Most recently I sold my oak S-19 and am having DD withdrawal

For the first time in many years, I have nothing to play a DD record on.
The B-19 and cabinet are owned by the same gentleman that has the Credenza I advertised in the Yankee Trader section a couple weeks ago. I know he would let me have it very reasonably.(He's a radio guy) BUT-- I did promise my wife I would downsize
