Brunswick 27 Chinoiserie (Black Lacquer)

Hi all, recently acquired a nice Brunswick Model 27 with the hand painted Chinese scenes. I would like to clean and polish, but worried about damaging the hand painted scenes. Does anyone have any recommendations how to proceed?
