My Only Union Purchase

I would like to thank Kent Schoneman from Kansas City for selling me his 1905 Edison Shaving Machine. I cleaned it up and I must say it it a beautiful all original machine and case. The one thing it did change was to install rubber belts on the machine. Now I have two of these shavers, this one with the front door, and another with the side drawer that has the upgrade to electric.

That looks nice Rich. I too have the one with the side drawer. Where did you get the rubber belts for yours?

Nice purchase and great condition. Would be a great addition to any cylinder machine collection.

Lovely!

I'm in the process of restoring a hand-cranked version, with similar top works. I could use some info:

Could you post some photos of the works under the bedplate (spring and electric versions)?

How does the lift lever on the carriage work?

How does the adjustment on the blade assembly work?

Bill

Edit: I finally got the blade assembly free, and found out how to adjust it.

Very nice machine indeed :!: :D The rubber belts look like the O-Rings from Home Depot, if I'm not mistaken. ;)

I bought the o-rings from an industrial rubber supply store near me that sells all types of belts and hoses. I find that the rubber o-rings slip much less than the round leather belts on the shaver.
