I'm selling a Tetrazzini record on EBay that I'm told is rare, not sure if it is. Here's a link!

It looks like a 1940s era re-issue pressing. I never understood why record sellers offer Parcel Select and not Media Mail which would ship for about ⅓ your shipping price.

This is actually a Zonophone disc with the "Tetrazzini" label pasted over, so it's not at all a 1940s issue. This was done to capitalize on her successful Victor records. While these recorded before her Victors, they didn't sell well until after her Victors caught on but they remained in print for as long as Zonohphone was afloat. There were a few other pasteover labels used on her records as well, mainly used by dealers to disguise the fact that these were Zonophone products being sold, by this time, after Zonophone had been bought by Victor and was being phased out. Neat record, a curiosity, possibly a bit scarce, but not "rare", I've seen several of these and own a few along with each of her Zonophones with regular Zonophone labels.

I've since found an ad for these from things I'd specially tagged from the Talking Machine World, this from 1908. As an additional aside, these with the pasted over labels were determined to be stock being sold off much later, as late as 1915, if memory serves. I may be able to dig up the article. Landay Brothers, by the way, was a major Victor dealer and jobber in NYC well into the 1920s.

Her sister Eva was also an opera singer, but I'm not aware of any recordings by her.

By even further checking, Luisa's Zonophone records were made in 1904, but this example on eBay is a much later pressing.
