This is a Porter Music box with matching stand. These are exact replicas of the old Regina music boxes. The Porter can play Regina and Polyphone disks. The Regina also plays Porter and Polyphone. The Polyphone plays Regina and Porter. The Porter music boxes play loud and clear. I think that they are heirloom quality.

I believe this is a Swiss-made Reuge of relatively recent (within the past 30 years) manufacture. The mechanism does not appear to be that of a Regina/Porter, and the single comb has only 30-odd teeth. I believe Porter reproduced only the double-comb (156 teeth) models.

I think the price is optimistic. :)

I think this is true- a dealer I looked up sells Porter and Reuge discs. It is possible that the two makes have some parts and case suppliers in common.

Reuge - it says it clearly in the 4th photo. From what I read on the web, they still manufacture, so the box could be very recent.

Nothing "rare" about this item, as the description indicated. Way too much money from a "collectors" marketplace. For tht non-collector, would be a possibility as an expensive conversation piece. From a collector standpoint, will never get your money back.
