FOR SALE: Very Late Victor II - $900

I'm selling a very late Victor II. The serial number is very close to the end of the production run and the mechanism is strictly Victrola and correct. It has a double spring Victrola motor, sheet metal Victrola turntable, male threaded crank, Victrola 2 reproducer, and a Victrola type brake. The machine has never been in the hands of a collector, until yesterday, and the #19 Flower horn appears to have been decorated with flowers by the original owner. This is one of the most interesting Victor II machines that I've seen but it has some drawbacks. There is no trace of nickeling on the tone arm and horn elbow. Even though they appear to have never been nickel plated, that is unlikely. Also, there are teeth marks (puppy?) on the front right corner of the top board. The turntable has its original felt but the edge is painted gold. Also, the brake is painted gold. The price is $900. If you have questions or interest, please send a PM or email. Thanks, Jerry Blais

Good eye! Most of the late horn machines were made for export. Sometimes they come back home. Jerry

How very true. However, it is also a bit of a misconception. This model with rear lever brake is shown in a 1917 Victor US market booklet (see attached). So, this model you show (although late), may have actually been sold in the USA as well. The serial number may help regarding year of manufacture. I wonder if the newspaper can provide a date..??. It reminds me of the collection I was involved in down in Mexico in the mid 90's. Most of this stuff ended up in California.
There were many late Vic II's.

Yes a later model, this is about the time VTM had to change their slogan to "Look Out for The Dog!"
