No affiliation, not mine, etc.

For any of you Sonora fans, I don't know the model (or really anything else about Sonoras) but it looks like it's in very nice condition and has a couple dozen records with it. SN 301513

If previous posts to this board are right, this is the Sonora "Imperial". Looks like a very nice example, too.

I grew up in Newark, and my Dad lives there yet. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that "Newark NY" in the heading. Dad's been making noises about selling the house and everything in it. Since I still have a few phonographs there, including a Sonora upright, I feared he'd got a good offer on the house and had resolved to empty it out once and for all!

That would make my heart skip, too! When I moved out of my parents' house -- under negative circumstances -- I lost many personal belongings. For 30 years I hadn't thought about any of them, I had moved on and forged my own way in the world; my own career, family...life.

Then about ten years ago, my best friend from "growing up", and I, were reunited when he looked me up and showed up at my home, somewhat surprisingly.

He brought this large cardboard box with him...

In it were a half dozen of my old tube electronics that I had rebuilt as a kid and used for listening to music in my bedroom for many years prior to moving out of that house of hell.

I was stunned and am forever grateful for him saving those long forgotten relics... :D

Best,
Fran
