Reproducer Upgrades

Ever wonder why you found a nice machine with a weird reproducer instead of the original? Blame it on Popular Mechanics...
Cool ads. I have run across machines with reproducers similar to these. Is there a date on these ads? I'm guessing late 20's early 30's.
