Aftermarket or homebrew?

I just found this weird Edison Standard cabinet on Ebay. It looks like it uses some Amberola parts... Was this something that was offered by other sellers as an aftermarket feature, or do you think it was a home job? Note the 'E' in the grille.

I think this might be a special cabinet offered by some large retailer- possibly Babson.

I notice that the works are from a model A: perhaps someone bought this cabinet to upgrade an older machine.

I also seem to recall seeing another Edison like this posted somewhere...

This could potentially be a very versatile little machine: swap out the Diamond B for an O (or a C and H with an adapter), and you'd have a nice "all-in-one" Phonograph.

Looks home built. The two wood pieces below the bedplate just doesn't look very professional to me and the rest is very primitive. Back during that era, there were plenty of good carpenters around who fiddled around with home made furniture.

I've seen a couple of these, with that same grille. I'd place my bet on aftermarket.
