Very early conical horn, reduced end not soldered, but shaped. Has weak japanning, but very presentable with age. Ideal for early Edison and Graphophone machines. $200, can deliver to Wayne free of charge.

You know that's a cylinder phonograph recording horn, right?

I don't think that's correct...Most conical horns with a single ring are horns for players...the recording horns have longer "handles" to hang the horn from to be able to adjust the position..

What's the expert consensus here??

This is definitely not a recording horn. It is an early horn for reproducing sound offered by the Columbia Phonograph Company (among others) in the 1890's. The first picture is an ad from an 1898 Catalog showing the horn on a stand.

These are actually quite nice, early horns at still a very reasonable price.

Recording horns were much more narrow. I've included a picture of an original recording horn as the second picture.
