Very nice but not a test- if you wanted custom pressings of selections no longer in the catalog this is what Victor gave you.

Ah, sorry didn't realize that. Victor would create these custom pressings as 1 sided? Are they as old as the actual 78s themselves (from early 1900s) or newer?

Thanks,

TL

Seven of the discs are from the complete set of I Pagliacci recorded by the Gramophone & Typewriter Co in Milan in 1907 under the composer's direction, and originally issued in Europe on a mishmash of 10" and 12" black- and red-label single sided discs. I don't know whether Victor issued the complete set at the time, though I do have some 12" double sided Victors that look about ten years later. These pressings have labels that belong to the 1930s or 1940s.

There was a catalog that Victor had called "Victor Records of Historical and Personal Interest" from 1927.These were custom pressings of records no longer in the catalog.People could order them for a fee.I have one of "Tulip Time" by John Steele.edisonplayer
