Today I found a Phono-Cut record at a local antique store. It says that it is only to be used with a sapphire needle. The number is 5187. Are these records rare or valuable? I only gave 50 cents for it. Can anyone tell me anything about this label?
Thanks,
Eli

Without knowing what music it contain, or it's condition, it's likely worth a few bucks at most.

There's an unsold one on e-bay right now listing for a few hundred dollars, but that price is surely fallacious.

I have a few Phono-Cut records. They are not as common as Pathés but still only sell for about the same as Pathé, Rex or vertical cut Okeh records. Play them with a sapphire ball stylus. Their groove dimensions look the same as Pathé and they sound about the same. 50 cents was a bargain.

Thanks for the info, it will probably just be a wall hanger for the interesting factor.
