Would it worth it me getting an LP reproducer for my C-250?Before Jerry Donnell gave it to me he put the LP gearing in it.He also gave me two of the records. One is the 24 minute(10 inch)of hymns, the other is the 40 minute(12 inch)of the Anna Case recital.I never used the gearing, and I saw a gold plated LP reproducer on EBay that I was considering.edisonplayer

Of course you should! Especially since you already have records to play with it.

It will be interesting to see what a LP reproducer sells for. There's a complete machine in Portland with an asking price of $400. Jerry

There was a large console LP machine with reproducer at the Wayne Show for $250 in poor condition.

I owned a console (Black) LP Edison for a while. If your really interested in the sound abilities of Edison then its not much to hear. But if its a collectable your interested in then I suppose its sort of up to the person. Many of the records do not play well due to the breakdown of the grooves and the volume is much reduced from what your standard records would provide.

I have a nice old Ferrari. It has passenger car "touring" tires on it. I live near two really nice deserted curvy roads. I see a set of performance tires advertised at a reasonable price nearby.
Should I buy them?

Congratulations!
Be sure to "play" the blank, ungrooved runout area of any diamond disc with it before trying to play an LP disc. Do it under well-lit conditions, in a way that allows you to see the stylus in contact with the shiny surface of the record. If you see any scoring or marking of the surface by the stylus taking place, your stylus is likely to be bad, and you shouldn't risk using the reproducer on the delicate LP discs until the stylus can be replaced.

Congratulations on your win. I thought about buying the kit and a LP reproducer and maybe buy a record or two. But between the costs, availability of good records and the sound quality members have talked about, I had decided against it. I am sure it is a good example at an early attempt to create a LP player.

Congrats, let us know how it all works out for you, I plan on equipping my late C 19 with the apparatus at some point.
