Here's one of the most memorable songs from the 1920s, by a band that (on this record at least) sounds a bit like some of the Harry Raderman Edison DDs. (Listen to their 'Life and love seem sweeter after the storm' to hear what I'm talking about.)

This is on an early Cameo disc, back when they had the early red-and-blue striped label motif. (No good photo yet.)

Cameo 274, matrix 281D, recorded 19 September 1922. Transferred at 78.6 rpm.

Enjoy!

Good recording of "Toot toot tootsie"!

I got a copy of "After the storm" on Cameo :D 514 some time ago, and I was disappointed; I also find the Edison DD recording rather unimaginative and bland. This may be because the rendition by Bailey's Lucky Seven is one of my all-time favorite recordings.
